Amazon Bird Feeders: A Review

When it comes to attracting birds to your backyard, Amazon bird feeders can be a great way to get started. As someone who has recently purchased one, I was excited to try out the Bird Buddy app that comes with it. But my experience was not without its challenges.

After setting up the feeder and waiting patiently for some visitors, I was thrilled when a titmouse finally arrived. However, my excitement was short-lived as the app failed to capture any photos or videos of the bird. The camera didn't even snap a single picture! Whether it was due to technical issues or simply bad luck, I couldn't help but feel frustrated.

Despite this setback, I persisted and gave the Bird Buddy another chance. And this time, it delivered. An entire day passed with nothing, not a single visitor. But then, on the second day, we had our first successful contact. A beautiful tufted titmouse approached warily, probably trying to determine if all the fancy food I put out was real or if there was a trap somewhere.

One thing that became clear is that the Bird Buddy relies heavily on Wi-Fi connectivity to send photos and videos to your account. This means that it needs to be within range of your router in order to work properly. For me, this wasn't an issue as I have my office window right outside where I can see the feeder from.

In terms of placement, I chose a holly bush that sits right outside my home office window. It's a great spot, with plenty of birds exploring the area every day. In fact, just yesterday I spotted a close-up yellow-rumped warbler paying a visit to the feeder.

Overall, I'm glad I took the plunge and purchased an Amazon bird feeder. While there were some technical issues along the way, the end result was well worth it. With its ease of use and ability to capture stunning photos and videos of your feathered friends, the Bird Buddy is definitely a great choice for anyone looking to attract birds to their backyard.
